The Gift of A Father

Here you were in our lives.  I was filled with fear, anger, resentment and so many other emotions that came up with me as I grew. 

None were your fault, you were trying to be kind, but u rejected you time and again. If I gave in I was terrified I’d end up rejected in the end. Thrown away like yesterday’s trash just like the times before. ..but you,  you never gave up on me. 

I saw your kindness and love with my babies and mother. My baby girls just loved you. 

But then, something happened,  my husband you saw his cruelness,his abuse, his neglect, and walked up and slipped money in my hand and shh’ed me. I looked at you stunned. It wasn’t the money it was the look on your face.  You were a father in that instant. I saw the gift. I was still afraid, I think thatwill never leave. .but I felt love from a father for the first time in my life. .what a gift. It may have took a few years but I understood. I had been given a gift. Granddaddy was gone and I needed some one.  Joe is the perfect replacement. Him with boy scout stuff.  Thank you god.  For such a Beautiful gift.  I need a father,  I need a father still.
